Scour around the interweb for the Aphex Twin and all sorts of weird shit turns up. So by special request, here is some of the stuff that's wound up on my hard drive - most of it probably churned out by some kid in his bedroom in Staffordshire, trying to clamber aboard the Richard D James bandwagon with a bit of dishonest ID3 tagging - well it worked.
But first, a quick message to anyone who ain't posted in the last week:
Aphex Twin - Come On You Slags
Here's some junglising that sounds like no AFX I've ever heard
Aphex Twin - Outside Kick Ass Violin Solo
This is a gorgeous swirly synthy eight-minuter - sounds like it might date from the Analogue Bubblebath era - with early examples of those bouncy distorted rhythms that would come to dominate in later years
Aphex Twin - Maximim Electronica
This is a remix of a Nice Inch Nails tune. Extremely frightening music.
Aphex Twin - At the Heart of It All
Very silly but give it a chance - I'm really feeling those Faithless-style stabs that kick in around the one-minute mark. Almost certainly nothing to do with RDJ.
Aphex Twin - Hot Buttered Popcorn (techno mix)
As for the rest - the titles say it all really
Aphex Twin - Power Pill Pacman
Aphex Twin - R2D2
Aphex Twin - Super Mario Brothers Theme
Aphex Twin - Techno Tetris

Woop Woop!
Some serious raiding, looking forward to digesting over the next few days... late night in madrid, supposedly summarizing marxian economics in spanish, and then i am reminded of a tune i heard on a mix tape of a stoner friend of mine about 5 years ago- you just awakened many a memory: powerpill pacman- oh my gosh
FYI, this is from my brother.
Thistle Eye
BTW, no 'Cmon You Slags' - you've double-posted 'Techno Tetris'.
That NIN remix is by far the best thing on the (really rather boring imho) "26 mixes for cash."
Would Aphex, who's happiest with tracks called things like Schottkey 7th Path, or Polynomial-C, really go for "Maximim Electronica" as a title? It don't ring true to me.
actually, ahem, it's the µ-Ziq Mix from the 'On' remix EP. (http://www.discogs.com/release/6155. ) (I dug out my vinyl copy to cross-check).
'On' turned me onto the Aphex Twin in the early 1990s and was also a rare taste of singles-chart success for RDJ (though did Windowlicker later chart as well?) Brilliant.
And Powerpill Pacman and R2D2 are the handiwork of RDJ, it seems - a 12" of the former was going for £16 on eBay when I looked earlier today. Dunno about the Tetris and Mario versions.
Tom - sorry you didn't get yer slags, but surely you've got that tune already - off I Care Because...
Quentin - Maximim was the one track that did actually have my confidence - has RDJ's fingerprints all over it
Anyone got the Analord 12 inches?
Ahem, ahem:

It didn't sound right at all. The drum programming was way too clean. Even with his first 'jungle' flirtation, it was much rawer.
I've got two Analord tracks. Downloaded though - no 12". There is that Selected Lords compo...
Nice YouTube link - how did you find that? And can you chuck some of thowse Analord tunes up here?
